Multi-Media Strategies to Grow Your Podcast or YouTube Channel

Are you looking for ways to be seen and heard? Do you want to grow your podcast or YouTube channel, but don't know where to start? You're not alone. Many business owners feel overwhelmed when it comes to multi-media marketing. It can seem like a daunting task, but it's not as difficult as you might think. In this blog post, we will discuss 17 ways that you can use multi-media to grow your business!

I want you to honor your natural communication style, and keep in mind that learning can be auditory, visual and kinesthetic. Therefore you are encouraged to use all 3 learning styles to your advantage by taking a multi-media approach to showcasing your content.

For example, by placing your video content on social media sites like YouTube and Vimeo, you can reach a larger audience. You can also use the videos as trailers, micro content, educational webisodes, and video blogs. You can place the audio content on your podcast and stream via Apple Music, Spotify and Soundcloud. Worksheets, workbooks and exercises are illustrations of how to encourage a hands-on, tactile experience.

I'd like you to walk away from this blog post understanding that multi-media strategies are a great way to reach more people and grow your audience. There are people right now who need what you offer. Don't keep them waiting!

HERE ARE 17 WAYS TO BE SEEN AND HEARD:

Update the description: Keep in mind that people are busy. Sometimes titles are deceiving or poorly written. Give the audience a reason to click on your video or listen to your podcast episode by writing a compelling description.

Make sure to include a call to action (CTA) in your video or podcast episode. Ask your audience to do something, such as subscribe, like, or share. Use proper hashtags and include links to your website, blog, or social media profiles in the video description. If you make it easy for them to take action, they're more likely to do so!

Interview a subject matter expert. Make a list of podcasts or YouTube channels that are in your niche. Then, reach out to the hosts and ask if you can interview them on your show. Not only will this help get your name out there, but it will also give you the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business.

On the back end, strengthen the relationships to support one another. You can also provide more value to your audience by partnering in an affiliate or joint venture partnership. What companion products and services compliment your work? By cross promoting one another, everyone wins!

Do guest appearances on other shows: If you can get on another podcast or YouTube channel, you will reach their audience, which can be a great way to grow your own. Do not vomit sales pitches. Actually provide information that is relevant, relatable, and engaging to the audience.

Transcripts can be a great way to reach a new audience. By providing a written version of your podcast or YouTube content, you're making it easy for people who might not have time to listen to the entire episode or watch the entire video. You can also use transcripts as blog posts and articles.

Advertise your show. Pay for advertising to get your show in front of potential listeners who may not be familiar with you or your content. Be creative and think about how to gain visibility online and offline. Consider mailing postcards to local meetup groups inviting them to a listening party.

Create a trailer. A great way to introduce people to your show is by creating a trailer for both the video series and podcast series.

The video trailer should be short (around 30-60 seconds) and the podcast trailer should be around 60-90 seconds. Both trailers should give the viewer or listener a taste of what they can expect from your show, and include a CTA, such as subscribe to the YouTube channel or iTunes page.

Create a podcast: If you have a video-based show, consider creating an audio-only version of it. This will allow people to listen to your content even if they don’t have time to watch the video. You can submit your podcast to iTunes and other directories so that people can easily find it and subscribe.

Create educational webisodes. Make a series of short tutorial videos that cover one topic from beginning to end – people tend to prefer these over longer ones because they have no commitment issues associated with them.

If you have a blog, embed each video on a blog post: Each time you release a new video, write a blog post about it. Include the video in the post so that people can watch it right there on your site. This is a great way to get more views and drive traffic back to your site.

Share your videos on social media: Use Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, or any other social media platform to share your videos with your followers. If you have an engaged audience on social media, they will be happy to watch and share your content.

Submit your videos to directories and forums: There are many websites that allow you to submit your videos for others to watch. This is a great way to get exposure and reach a new audience.

Submit your show to podcasting and YouTube awards shows. There are many awards shows out there that recognize the best in podasting and YouTube, so submit your show for consideration!

Create a custom URL for your channel or blog. This will help people remember your channel or blog more easily, and it looks nicer than a long string of numbers.

Leverage other marketing channels such as email marketing, direct mail, paid advertising, and search engine optimization. These are all great ways to drive traffic to your content and increase viewership.

Engage with viewers and followers online. Respond to comments and questions on social media, and be sure to thank people for watching your videos. This will help create a community around your content and make people more likely to return in the future.

Host a contest or giveaway on social media. This is a great way to engage with your audience and reward them for their loyalty. It is also a fantastic way to support brands that you respect and admire.

Last but not least, make use of graphics and thumbnails. A great way to capture people’s attention is by using eye-catching graphics and thumbnails in your videos. This will help them stand out from the crowd and entice people to watch them.

By taking a multi-media approach, you can expose your podcast or YouTube channel to a larger audience. These are just a few tips to help you get started, but the most important thing is to have fun and be yourself! People are drawn to authenticity, so don’t try too hard – just let your personality shine through! How may I support you?
