Spiritual Disconnection = Personal Malaise
Getting in touch with your inner guiding force is important to spiritual fulfillment and professional development.
Far too many of us are wandering around feeling a huge disconnect in our lives, which forms our desire to once again connect with our inner guidance.
We were put here to fulfill a mission, to serve, to help others. When we feel disconnected from that purpose, that pain shows up in all of the areas of our lives.
Case in point, I worked in the international aviation industry almost 20 years. Truth be told, I was extremely angry. I knew that I was not in alignment with my passionate purpose.
Each day I wondered “is work the only thing that I have to look forward to?” I remained in this job far longer than necessary because I was terrified of failure. After all, my $100,000+ a year job seemed very secure at the time.
Have you noticed that while sitting in this emotional state, you feel emotionally and spiritually disconnected? Perhaps you pick petty fights because everything and everyone gets on your nerves, are in a constant state of fatigue because every single day feels exhausting; and constantly question the purpose of life all together because the bad days seem to outnumber the good days..
Not to mention your business suffers. Perhaps you are spinning in and out of overwhelm due to over-giving, over-teaching, over-sharing, over-achievement and under-earning.
Maybe you feel disconnected and want to understand that void you feel. Maybe you are ready to stop the madness and save yourself from yourself.
The hardest part is feeling worthy of the dreams we have inside of us. Throughout so many years of serving others, it is hard to give that same attentive treatment back to ourselves instead of others.
We think it feels selfish to care about what we want out of life. Honey, I’m here to tell you that it’s only selfish to make yourself miserable. If you aren’t happy, you can’t possibly serve the world in a meaningful way.
Here are some of my tips to helping my clients reconnect:
Enjoy some time alone.
In our busy world it’s hard to stay connected with our spiritual guiding force. Between emails, phone calls, meetings, taking care of the kids, and everything else this modern day demands from us, we get caught up in other people and their expectations for our lives. Take the time to be alone so you can tap into voice of your spiritual guiding force and act on what it says.
Connect with the things you love.
Finding a path that honors our inner calling is something I specialize in and I see so many women struggle with this. When you are on a path that honors your spiritual, emotional, and physical needs, your whole life begins to light up.
Sometimes doing an activity we used to love can ignite a spark in our spirit to remind us what we truly enjoy doing. Getting back in touch with our passions can light up parts of our brains we have long abandoned.
Hire a coach.
Sometimes you need someone on the outside to help you reconnect to your life purpose.
